The Mobil Internet Device (MID) is a brand new category on the market. These devices have the navigation as basic feature and they provide much more than this. Not only the Internet functions but the new SiRF Prima CPU provide us wider usability. The 600 MHz processor „takes it all” namely the performance is able to run practically any kind of Windows CE 6 compatible softwares. Moreover, the current softwares don’t take advantage of the 3D acceleration so this option is for the future only.

The high resolution contains 800x480 pixels is also rarity. The built-in memory is 2GB therefore we have possibility enough for data storage. The memory can be extended by memory card, its slot can be found on the side of the device.

And now, let’s see even more! First of all, the biggest difference compare to an average PNA is, the Internet functions. There are two options for connecting. Wi-Fi knows not only the open networks but the encrypted ones, too. The Bluetooth helps us to make GPRS connection. It has the disadvantage of paid service but at the same time, we need not to find free Wi-Fi spots. For browsing we can use Internet Explorer.

For chatting there is the WinCE version of the Messenger. Just open the Windows application from the main menu to start this program. There are other programs for office work, too, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF. The multimedia applications mean Media Player and photo viewer, games and a .rar unzip program.

Of course the device has all the „average” features like music- and video player, photo viewer, games, e-book readers, flash player and so on.

As summary we can say that N800 knows everything and more… It is almost a PDA so if anyone search for a know-all device, do not hesitate. Go for N800!
